How to Install OSCam-ICam on Dreambox - Complete Guide

Step-by-step installation of OSCam-ICam on Dreambox receivers. Compatible with DM920, DM900, DM820 models. Includes plugin setup and initial configuration.

What is OSCam-ICam?

OSCam-ICam is a specialized version of OSCam optimized for iCam protocol support. It's designed for seamless integration with modern satellite receivers and provides enhanced stability for iCam-compatible services like Sky Deutschland.

Prerequisites

Before You Start

  • Dreambox receiver with Enigma2 image installed
  • Internet connection (Ethernet preferred over WiFi)
  • FTP client installed (FileZilla recommended)
  • Backup of current settings (recommended)

Step 1: Choose Your Enigma2 Image

For optimal OSCam-ICam performance, use one of these recommended images:

OpenATV (Recommended)

Most stable and feature-rich image with excellent OSCam-ICam support. Regular updates and active community support.

Download from: openatv.eu | Version: 7.4 or later

OpenBH (Alternative)

Modern interface with good OSCam-ICam compatibility. Slightly different installation process but fully functional.

Download from: blackhole.eu | Version: 5.3 or later

Important Note

Flash the image properly! Use DreamUp or similar software to flash your receiver. Incorrect flashing can brick your Dreambox. Always backup settings before flashing.

Step 2: Install OSCam-ICam Plugin

Via Dreambox Menu (OpenATV)
  1. 1. Press MENU on your remote control
  2. 2. Navigate to: Plugins → Download Plugins
  3. 3. Wait for list to load (may take 30-60 seconds)
  4. 4. Scroll to find: "OSCam-ICam" or "OSCam iCam"
  5. 5. Press OK to select and install
  6. 6. Wait for installation to complete
  7. 7. Restart your Dreambox when prompted
Via OpenBH Menu
  1. 1. Press MENU on your remote control
  2. 2. Navigate to: Plugins → System Plugins
  3. 3. Select: OSCam-ICam from the list
  4. 4. Choose: Install (green button)
  5. 5. Wait for installation to complete
  6. 6. Restart when prompted

Step 3: Initial Configuration

Access OSCam-ICam

Configuration Menu
  1. 1. Press MENU on remote
  2. 2. Go to: Plugins → OSCam-ICam
  3. 3. Select: OSCam-ICam (the plugin)
  4. 4. Open: Configuration
  5. 5. Set: Enable OSCam-ICam to "Yes"
  6. 6. Configure: Basic settings (see below)

Basic Settings to Configure

Web Interface

  • Port: 8888 (default)
  • Username: admin
  • Password: Change from default!
  • Enable: Yes

Network Settings

  • Server Port: 12000 (CCCam)
  • ICam Port: Auto or 5500
  • Enable iCam: Yes
  • Network Protocol: TCP

Step 4: Add Server Configuration

  1. 1. In OSCam-ICam menu: Select "Server" or "CCCam"
  2. 2. Add new server (green button)
  3. 3. Enter details:
  4. • Host: your-server.cccam-provider.com
  5. • Port: 12000
  6. • User: your_username
  7. • Password: your_password
  8. 4. Save and test connection

Alternative: Manual Configuration via FTP

For advanced users who prefer manual configuration:

  1. Connect to your Dreambox via FTP
  2. Navigate to /etc/tuxbox/config/
  3. Create or edit oscam.server file
  4. Add your server line in CCCam format
  5. Save and restart OSCam-ICam

Step 5: Test Your Installation

  2. 2. Check OSCam-ICam status in plugins menu
  3. 3. Access web interface: http://dreambox-ip:8888
  4. 4. Verify server connection in web interface

Common Installation Problems

❌ "Plugin not showing in menu"

  • • Check available space on your Dreambox
  • • Try installing from IPK file manually

⚠️ "Cannot access web interface"

  • • Verify OSCam-ICam is running (check plugins menu)
  • • Check firewall settings on your network
  • • Try different port (8889, 8890, etc.)
  • • Access from Dreambox IP, not router IP
  • • Check if another service is using port 8888

🔧 "No connection to server"

  • • Verify server details (host, port, user, password)
  • • Check internet connection on Dreambox
  • • Test server reachability from another device
  • • Try different port if 12000 is blocked
  • • Check OSCam-ICam logs for connection errors
